  • Low Voltage Components

The Paul’s Automation & Controls webstore provides a comprehensive range of low voltage motor control components.

From circuit breakers, contactors, overload relays and motor starter protectors to line/load reactors and pilot devices (pilot lights, push buttons, selector switches, potentiometers and wobble sticks), Paul’s Automation & Controls is positioned to compete favorably against any local, regional or national distributor in North America. A short summary of low voltage control components available from Paul’s Automation & Controls is listed below. Links displayed on the left side of your screen take you to corresponding sections in our webstore. And, as always, if you can’t find what you’re looking for just give us a call. We are always happy to hear from our customers and will do our best to help you locate the low voltage motor control component(s) you need.

Circuit Breakers

Benshaw Molded Case Circuit BreakersBenshaw’s R2CB Series Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCBs) are available in seven different compact frame sizes. Benshaw MCCBs offer a safe, reliable solution for circuit breaker applications ranging from 15 to 1200 amps.

Line and load lugs and mounting hardware (screws) are included as standard. Available accessories include:

  • Front mount rotary operators
  • Rotary operator handle extensions
  • Flange handles with a cable operating mechanism
  • Flex cables (from 36″ up to 128″)
  • Mechanical interlocks
  • Bus bar connectors
  • Shunt trips

Contactors and Overload Relays

Benshaw RC/RSC Series Contactors

Benshaw Contactors and Overload RelaysBenshaw RC/RSC Series Contactors provide control for single- and three-phase motors, and for switching resistive or inductive loads up to 690 VAC. The entire line of RediStart™ contactors from Benshaw is built and tested to world-leading electrical and mechanical standards.

RC Series Contactors are rated from 9A – 150A (IEC AC3 480). RSC Series Contactors are rated from 180A – 800A (IEC AC3 480).

Contactor Accessories:

  • Terminal Covers
  • Contactor Box Lug Kits
  • Auxiliary Contact Blocks
  • Mechanical Interlock Units
  • Surge Suppressors

Replacement Parts:

  • Contact Kits
  • Phase Barrier Kits
  • Contactor Coils

RMSO/SPO Series Bimetallic Overload Relays

RMSO/SPO Series Overload Relays are bimetallic-style relays designed to protect AC-3 circuits (up to 150A @ 690V) and motors against overloads, phase failure, long starting times and stalling of the motor. RMSO and SPO Series overload relays can be integrally mounted to Benshaw RC and RSC contactors for thermal overload protection.

RMSP Series Motor Starter Protectors

Benshaw RMSP Series Motor Starter Protectors meet or exceed all universal standards, offering efficient motor starting functionality in a compact design. Protection functions include protection of group installations, protection of circuits, motor protection, starter protection and phase failure protection. RMSP Series Motor Starter Protectors provide a wide range of ambient temperature compensation, and may be coupled directly to Benshaw RC Series contactors … providing a complete electro-mechanical combination starter.

Line and Load Reactors

Benshaw Line/Load ReactorsBenshaw R2LR Series Line Reactors add impedance, protecting VFDs and downstream motors from power current disturbances (e.g. surges, spikes and transients) and nuisance over-voltage trips. Impedance added on the line side can also help meet IEEE-519 standards. Benefits include:

  • Improved total (true) power factor
  • Reduced power source harmonic distortion
  • Reduced DC bus ripple voltage inside the drive, extending the life of capacitors
  • Reduced voltage when power source voltage is abnormally high

Benshaw R2LR Series Load Reactors increase the service life of drives and motors by decreasing terminal voltage and operating temperature. Load reactors can also improve motor efficiency and decrease motor noise. Benefits include:

  • Reduced motor terminal peak voltages due to long leads
  • Increased efficiency of motors by attenuating high frequency harmonic currents, reducing watt loss
  • Supplements VFD output short circuit protection by limiting short circuit current
  • Reduced output current surges resulting from rapid load changes

Pilot Devices

Benshaw Pilot DevicesPaul’s Automation & Controls offers a wide selection of pilot devices, including push buttons, selector switches, toggle and rocker switches, indicator lights, contact blocks and more.

Push Buttons

Benshaw’s 30mm Push Buttons are durable, flexible and well-suited to a variety of control enclosures. Both non-illuminated and illuminated buttons are stocked, and Paul’s Automation & Control can also work with Benshaw to customize buttons to suit your needs. All of our Benshaw Push Buttons are UL listed and rated NEMA 4X for use in harsh environments.

Selector Switches

Benshaw’s comprehensive line of 30mm selector switches, available through our webstore, includes two-, three- and four-position models, with both maintained and spring return options. Our selector switches are stocked for rapid delivery, but customizable (handle insert color options and contact block configurations) switches are also available. Contact us today for details.

Potentiometers

Standard 2 watt potentiometers with prewired terminal blocks come fully assembled with one 3/16″ (4.8mm) and three 1/16″ (1.6mm) gaskets. Our UL listed potentiometers from Benshaw offer NEMA ratings of 1, 2, 3, 3R, 12, 13,, 4 and 4X.

Pilot Lights

Paul’s Automation & Controls offers a complete line of standard and push-to-test 30mm pilot lights, both at 24V or 120V. As with all of Benshaw’s pilot devices, our pilot lights are UL rated up to NEMA 4X.

Contact Blocks

Benshaw contact blocks are designed to save you time and cost. These robust yet easy to install blocks enable one pilot device to operate several control circuits. Heavy-duty construction ensures that Benshaw’s contact blocks stay connected. Mix and match flexibility allows you to create a unique product to accommodate your needs. An IP20 guard is standard.

Wobble Sticks

These fully-assembled operators come standard with one 3/16″ (4.8mm) and three 1/16″ (1.6mm) gaskets.
